I'm getting deviation from people that are not in my list, and also I'm missing friends... is this dev policy to make you buy a subscription?

I'm leaving groups, and thinking of leaving dA... I'm not getting anywhere with it. I think it's becoming more of a social network then art related network.
Anybody knows some good websites where you can get a closer approach on photography?

PS: I also clean my watch list, I was watching some people just because they were nice
